Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)

Topic 1: Establishing Fair and Sustainable Frameworks for Foreign Aid

Foreign aid is a tricky concept - while beneficial to recipients, it can also push receiving countries into a dependent relationship with donor nations, oddly reminiscent of colonial pasts. As member states grapple with what their post-colonial states should look like, they should respond accordingly with sustainable frameworks for how, why and when foreign aid will be integrated within country borders.

Topic 2: Progression of the Belt & Road Initiative- Implications and Next Steps

As China's Belt & Road Initiative makes way through a large proportion of NAM member states, the committee must consider the implications of the global development strategy. From both a geopolitical and strategic standpoint, countries should prepare an appropriate response to potential partnerships, as well as projects that come from such a collaboration.
