Service

IRC Cares, the service branch of the IR club, has been running since 2007. Now, in our fourth year of service to the local and international communities, we are more thrilled than ever to share this opportunity to learn about the ways in which NGOs (non-governmental organizations) affect people around the world, specifically through policy decisions. Each year we choose a different NGO to support. In the past we worked with CARE, a monumental organization that works with over 60 developing countries, supporting women and children. We also worked for Practical Small Projects, an NGO that was actually founded in Williamsburg (proof that it can be done!), which focuses on the underlying network of causes for poverty, disease, illiteracy and hunger in Mali. This year we return to an NGO which we have supported in the past, Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
